As an eBay seller and it does not matter if you are a personal seller or a business seller there is one thing that must be at the fore front of your thinking at all time………………………. you need to think like a buyer and not like a seller. To new people this is often hard for them to understand, but once you sit down and think about it, it makes good sense.
When we first start to sell on line (or even offline) we get that thinking that we own a business so at all times we must act and talk like sellers or retailers. Now while this is very true, there is often a major problem that we have. If we do this we think, talk and use words that only sellers use and buyers never use. We also need to use words and phrases that a buyer uses.
Once you start to do this it will become natural and you will start to do it without even thinking what you are doing.
Something that I teach my clients is you need a Keyword list. This can be done on paper, but it is better on a spreadsheet (Google or excel), and you take each product line and just right words that people may use to find you. You also do this for where you live, Customer service etc. So lets look at an example………………………… Customer Service.
Customer Service
Now while people do search for customer service many will also search for things like these:
Quick
Prompt
Polite
Fast delivery
Kind emails
Live calls
real people
etc, etc
As well as you making the list do some brain storming with friends and also use Google Keyword Tools. Keywords are so important that I will be doing regular updates and articles to help you build a better and bigger business.
