We all want to sell the greatest and hotest items on eBay, but as I want to be honest here and although you will see the latest gadget selling on eBay, this is not a route for the average seller to take part in. But I heOnline auction sites have become a popular way...ar you say well I seebrand new  Ipods or mobile selling all day long on eBay. Well yes you do, but most of the time these latest gadgets are being sold by major companies, and main retailers who can buy in volume and get the right price.
What a lot of new sellers do not know is the fact that items like Ipods some mobile phones, have contracts and they are approved to sell these items and it does not matter how much money you have, if you are not approved you cannot sell.

To get you started selling on eBay sell second hand items or sell in niche areas, but again with these niches drill down deep and you will see your sales go through the roof.

Once you have a very good feel by selling second hand items then you can start to look for new products, but more about that tomorrow.

Happy Selling.

In this post I want to give you some tips how you can you use pictures to boast your eBay or online sales. And the simple way to do this is to use before and after pictures.

How do you do this…….. Well for example you sell on eBay a Teeth whitening product, well show a picture of someones teeth before they use your product and one of them afterwards.

Or you might be selling a special car wax polish, again do a picture of the car before and the car afterwards.

Please make these real pictures and not fakes……..because it is wrong, illegal and will harm your business.

As an eBay Education Specialist one of the question I am always asked is how do I know if My Product will Sell. Well today I am going to do a short lesson and show you a few steps you can do to see if other people have had a success.

First you need to go to eBay site for your country and log in.

Next you need to go to advanced search. And fill out the form. For my example I chose Baby Feeding Bottles (Why – pass)

When you put your words in the search you need to choose “exact phrase” And then the important button to choose is “Completed Listings” one you have done this press return or search.

After a few seconds I saw this

This tells us that there were 58 results in the last 30 days for Baby Feeding Bottles that have finished on the site.

Next we look down and can see this

We need to change this sort to highest price first.

The final window we see is this :

Wow we see lots of items have sold (these are in green) and not only sold most have mutiple bids on them. This tells me that if this was an item I would be selling then it is a big YES. This simple thing takes you only a few minutes and will show yes or no Will My product Sell

Happy online selling

A few weeks back I mentioned that eBay were  thinking abd talking about introducing a new kind of search function here in the UK.

This new eBay search will automatically fill in what they thats ebay ’think’ you’re looking for.  it works a bit like those sites that as you start to type in a name it fills out the rest for you. Well I am pleased to tell you this search is now up and running and as a seller I am mega happy, well very very happy.

Why am I so happy, well think outside the box, something as regular readers know I am hot about. As I was do an ebay class I asked one the girls in the class to name a niche and she said Candles. So I typed candles in and below is a bit of what came up in the search

- Yankee Candle
- Scented Candles
- Jo Malone Candles
- Candlesticks
- Candlestick holders
- Church Canles
-Smelly Candles
Etc
Etc

Have you spotted as a seller why I am so happy?…………..

Well first off if I was already in the market of selling candles it gives me further keywords I might have missed out, or it might give you other brands you had forgotten, and it will give you further candle niche products to sell.  Thanks to eBay they have done all that research for you.

Now you might be thinking about going into another niche, well go along to the search function type in a word and see what comes up, My guess you will have your main products and plenty of sub-niches.

The time taken not very long.

The Cost. Well nothing eBay has done this research for you.

What have you got to lose? Go try it now

Top Tips

Use These Top Tips and You Will Make Money.

Did you know there is a big void on eBay, between those who sell on eBay and those who make money on eBay? Sadly it is true and the gap grows bigger by the day. Below I have taken a look at the top sellers on eBay and made up the top Selling Tips list. I believe that if you use all these selling tips in your auctions and store you will have a successful eBay business.
1. Set A Low Starting Price – The first tip is that you should start all your auctions off with a low starting price. Either start at a price cheaper than you bought the item or at the cost price if you do not feel brave yet. Just think about real life auctions, the auction house starts off low and builds up. I myself have done this a few times with items I sell. For instance I sold a marketing course once. I started it off at $0.99 (now this course was worth money and a lot of money around $999.00) was I nervous, yes very, espically as it got to the last few hours and the auction was still very low, from what I can remember around $97.00. Then it went mad and finished off at around $1,000. So the motto is start low.

2. Why use Titles and Descriptions – Use all the words you can in your title and use describe words in your auction description. Although you use pictures, when you describe your item do it, as if the person cannot see the item. Use a bit of hype, but please do not lie to your customers.

3. Concise Information – When you describe your items just use enough words and sentences to sell. If your item is a cheaper item say $20.00 you do not need to go to town on the sales piece, but if you were selling a house or a $10,000 ring then yes you need to spend time on the sales letter.

4. Why You Should Use Good Pictures – Use a good camera. Place the object on a plain back ground. Use good lighting. (If possible take picture outside as this gives better pictures). Try and not use a flash. A picture is far better then words but still remember you need to use words as search engines cannot see pictures.

5. Always Sell Overseas.– If you wish to get more bidders and also a higher price for your item, also list your item as available for sales overseas. The only time you should not do this is if item is way to heavy to send or you are not allowed to export to that country.

6. Sell Your Items In the Right Place – Buyers always search for items by looking through the eBay categories, mainly because it is easy, but also because eBay makes it quicker for them to find what they what. So as a seller make sure you put your item in the right category. Another good tip here is to but your keyords not only in the title but also in the description. This gives you a better chance of being found and selling your item. Also list on more than category.

7.Keep away from mass markets – It is always a good idea not to sell where hundreds or thousands of other people are. Prices will always be low thus profits will always be low. Not good for you or your business. The only exception to this rule is if you can source the real product at a good price which means you can sell and make a good profit.
