Keywords

Today we are going to look at the wonderful and exciting world of Keywords (well they are to me, and I hope they too will become part of your life once we have finished this article). It does not matter if you sell on eBay, Amazon, Etsy, your own site. you need to know and learn what keywords are and how they will help you sell more items and get more visitors to your sites.

Keywords, Andrew Milburn, eBay, eBay Consultant, Keyword Sheet

As an eBay Consultant one of the questions I ask a client is to show me their Keyword Sheet, this can be in any format that the client finds easy to use……………quite often I get a look and the question what is a keyword sheet. Or I just use words from the fact sheet that came with the product, Ok that may be the start, but also it might mean you are using the wrong keywords for the product, and also and more important the wrong words that your customers are using to find you.

In basic terms your keyword sheets are full of words and phrases that your customers use on a daily basis to find the products you are selling. Notice the words Customers are using, not what you the seller uses or the company uses, but words and phrases that the customer uses to find an item on sites such as Google and eBay. Sadly one of the big mistakes that sellers use online is using words and phrases that they think the customer will use and not what the customer does use.

When you get into the fantastic world of keywords you will soon be hooked, and the light will come on and you will start to see items that are called one thing by the manufacturing company are in fact called something else by the person buying the item. A quick example of this is say you sell Dyson Cleaners. These all have their own names for example Dyson DC07. Now while a customer may use that keyword phrase to search for the cleaner on eBay, other people may put bagless hover, or bright coloured bagless Vacuum cleaner.

The keyword list will help you when you come to write titles, descriptions, articles, blog posts, guides etc. It is a fact that if you do not use the words your customers use, you will be missing out on a lot of traffic and you will be missing out on lots of sales. The right keywords used in the right way will mean increased traffic and we all know that increased traffic means more sales and more sales means more profit for you.

One of the best tools to find the right keywords is the Google Keyword Tool. You can find this at Google Keyword Tool. Here you can enter one keyword and within seconds will be presented with hundreds of other keywords that people have used when they have been searching for your main keyword. You will see miss-spellings and yes if your keyword can be miss-spelt then you will need to use this “bad” spelling in your description.

Hope you have found this article useful and if you need any help with Keywords as an eBay Consultant I do offer a service where I will set up your keyword sheets for you. For further information please send an email to info@myauctionempires.com and put Keywords in the subject line.

Keywords are one of the important areas you need to learn if you are going to make a go of your eBay business. Also to be honest if you are going to have any business at all either online or offline you need to know what Keywords your customers are using to search for you or people who sell products like you.

Once you have got the hang of keywords and how they can help you increase your business then you will see a marked increase in the visits to your sites, your eBay shop.

Most people turn a pale shade when you mention Keyword research but again it is simple. The tools you need either free or very low cost. Yes it will take time to do, but the time is well spent and you will be paid back many times as you will be targeting the market you want and not going out there and just putting up words your customers would never use.
With Keyword research you need to think like a customer and not as a seller.

Now I could go on and on about keyword Research and what tools to buy and why you should. How to make your lists easy to manage.

But someone else has done this for us, they have aimed it at eBayers and other online retailers. They have put it in easy to understand terms and through the power of online video they show us how.

This person is Janelle Elms . Janelle takes you by the hand and shows you in simple steps how to do Keyword Research.

These two classes come as part of the OSI Rock Stars package. This montly membership site contains over 120 hours of audio and video content and this grows by the week with new classes and courses be added all the time.

As well as the classes you have a very active forum, and the forum grows on a regular basis with new topics  be added as and when. The great thing about the forum is that it has members from all other the world and this means if you have a question that needs answering, you can post it and often within a few hours and in some case a few minutes you can start to see people replying to your question.

The great thing about OSI RockStars is the fact that Janelle and her team of people are all doing eBay or the other online sites. They teach you from what they have learned. OSI is not some site put together by people who do not know what online selling is. It was dreamed up by Janelle who is an active eBayer seller and also takes part in eBay live and other eBay events to train people. And all her other trainers are working their eBay businesses day in and day out.

So go on pop over to OSI RockStars by Clicking here and see how they can help you take your eBay business to the next level.
