Plan Your Year Today
Plan Your Year Today.
I guess as you are reading this blog you are looking to earn money from your eBay and other online auctions. So with this post I have decided to break the year down into some sales cycles for you. Please note these are not major holidays, but are just seasons of the year.
By breaking the year up you will be able to benefit from the different sales cycles in several different ways.
The first it will allow you to get into tune with new customers, their wants and their needs.
Next it will allow you to budget for new stock and buy when the price is in your favour.
Also eBay always have special listing days - keep your eyes and ears open and when you can take advantage of these do so, but only when it is in your favour. (It normally is though)
June - July -
While good weather in the Uk is not always a guarantee now is the time the Bristish people go all out and buy summer wear - things like sungalsses, beach wear, t-shirts, hats, BBQ stuff, Picnic items. Also here in the UK we have Wimbledon.
Aand when its on we have things like The Olympics, The World Cup and The European Cup, now while the last three are not often held here in the UK, and are not every year you can still stock products and make a profit from the events.
Another big thing that often takes place during these months are weddings.
August -
This often tends to be a quiet month for retailers, but remember this is the Internet and your market is worldwide. And also remember people are always looking to buy that last minute item, so be prepared.
September -
This is the begining of the School, College, University year so its a good idea to sell items that School Kids and students need and want. Also its a time that those going to Universisty are leaving home for the first time, so they and parents need to buy, bedding, cooking items, and small household items.
October -
This is sometimes a funny month. The temperatures are starting to get cooler and the weather is starting to get wet. Also we have Halloween and bonfire night coming up. And remember you can buy stock up after Halloween and sell it next year.
November -
This is the start of the Christmas rush. Get your items up early and sell and sell and sell. People buy all times of items for presents.
December -
Again you have the Christmas selling rush. - A note here have a clear cut off date for the last item to be posted out of your business. People will buy stuff the day before Christmas Eve and get cross when it does not arrive the next day. So make sure all your auctions finish in time. Keep an eye open on last posting days.
Also December 26th is when people are selling all their unwanted gifts, you can often pick up great bargains.
January. -
You can always pick up items for next Christmas in the online sales and offline sales. Pack them carefully and make a note of what you have bought and where you have stored it. Its also a time when people are thinking about fitness so why not look at selling that type of item.
Towards the end of this month people are thinking about Valentines Day.
February -
This can be a flat month but we do have Valentines Day, people are thinking about weddings, and eBay always have several promotions running to help sellers.
March-April -
This is Spring. Things like new season clothing, Garden items, Easter, DIY items. Also you can often pick up end of winter season items which you can sell or keep for the following year/
May -
Warm weather, so think camping, out door stuff and out door clothing.
As well as having seasonal items there are always items that sell day in and day out. Things like Pet products, CD’s, DVD’s, Baby wear.
As a seller plan ahead- buy low and sell high.
Happy eBaying
