As we speed towards Christmas, and are busy listing items we need to take time out and pay a visit to our Post Office, to find out the last date to post items. Each town and area will have different days and times depending where they are located in the world.

Most Post Offices in the world will have the dates up on their websites as well as having printed information. If you post overseas a lot you need to be very careful as some places have passed the cut off date if the item is going via surface mail. The postal services around the world add extra staff and have themselves all geared up for the extra volume. But…………………. as sellers we need to think ahead and inform our buyers the last date they can order and have the item for the holiday period.

People often complain that the postal service has let them down, and yes sometimes they do, but very often we as sellers expect real wonders to happen when we post items two days before the holidays and expect the items to turn up on time. Also if we use carriers we need to check with them what the last dates to post with them are. Quite often carriers such as Fedex, DHL etc have better cut off dates and can cope with delivering things a lot quicker nearer the holiday season.

But it is not fair to push them and expect them to perform wonders. So your task for this week is to, check with the postal services and carriers when their last date to post are.
