Do You Have The Passion ?
How often have you heard the phrase “Do You Have The Passion? “. On the surface not very often, but I want you to get your marketing ears on, and over the coming days and weeks I want you to note down each time you hear those words or a form of them. Next I want you to note down, where it was, when it was, and to whom the phrase was being said. Yes you may hear it in the local shopping mall, your children’s school, on the TV, a gym the list goes on and on. Then I want you to think for a few minutes what was meant when someone said to the other person “Do You Have The Passion“
Maybe it could be a teacher talking with a pupil……… and they ask “do you have the passion” to pass an exam, or it could be asked to someone who is looking to run a race. What they are really asking is does the person have the passion or the drive to finish the race.
To people who have been employed for sometime, in the early days you jumped out of bed and could not get to work fast enough and stayed late to finish off a task, but as the years slip away you stay in bed as long as you can and cannot wait to leave for home. What has changed? For many the passion and drive has left them, and it is at this stage you need to look for another job. For the sake of the person you are working for and yourself.
The same goes for your new business. You need to have passion and drive for it 24 hours aday. You need to live, sleep and drink it. And it will not matter that you got up at 6am and did not get to bed till 2am the next day you had that passion for the business. And please can you promise me one thing the day you loose that passion, look for another business. Do not clutch to it, just close it down and look where your passion now lies. So “Do you have the Passion?”, if you do then go and live out that passion in your life.
Now for most people they will just have the passion for the one business, while others will change every few years or so, no one is right or wrong, it is what suits us as humans. So in closing ” Do you have the passion” for whatever you are doing in life right now?
