Pre-Owned Profits Part Two

We all love to product source and we should never ever stop if we want to build a large and successful eBay business. A few weeks ago I gave a review of a wonderful ebook that came across my desk called Pre-Owned Profits by Ben Doyle. Since I had a copy of the book I have read it a few times and then put into action the steps Ben Doyle spoke about in Pre-Owned Profits.

But now that I have been using the process each time I have been out sourcing products in the Pre-Owned Market Place, I can again say hand on heart Ben’s process works time after time. Yes there are times when the item does not reach the finish price I had hoped for, but again if you follow Ben’s guide lines, and buy at low low prices those very rare losses will not harm you.

As I keep mentioning in my blog, we can learn new processes day in and day out, but unless we put into action the steps we have learnt, then we will still be at the same place as we were. We need to take what we learn in courses such as Pre-Owned Profits and then, take massive action and put those steps to work. Yes sorry I used the four letter word there, but to be successful in life it does take work and Pre-Owned profits and making a living on eBay still takes hard work. (Well if you can call buying items at a low cost and selling them at a higher price hard work).

I cannot recommend Pre-Owned Profits enough, (and yes if you click on a link and buy the course, I will earn a commission, just thought I would be upfront and be honest with you) and if you are looking to learn about sourcing products in the pre-owned product niches, then get this book today before Ben Doyle takes it down and removes it from the market place.

I have learnt how to source products in the pre-owned product niche and have added some great product streams to my eBay business, and I followed the course to the letter, as Ben lays it out in an easy to read and understand format, and you can put the steps into action straight away.

Profitable Keywords

If you have been online for sometime, you will have heard the word Keywords thrown about on blogs and sites you go to for training, but how often have you heard the term “Profitable Keywords ? ” Keywords are all about words we use to bring visitors to our sites and eBay shops and listings. Keywords are very important and if we do not use them in the correct way it can cost us a lot of money. But what are Profitable Keywords ? These are keywords that make you money, day in and day out. A profitable keyword is a keyword that your customer or client uses to find your product or your website on the internet. In most cases profitable keywords are not keywords that you a seller may use, and in fact a lot of the time the keywords that we use can drive buyers away and even worse they are words that they just skip over as they do not know what they mean. You may laugh at this, but if you take a proper look at your web-logs you will be able to see the words the buyers use to get to your site or your listings.

Every niche and sub-niche has their own group of profitable keywords, and it is your job to compile a list of all these words and then add these words to your websites, blogs, articles and listings. Yes it will take time and it is best to have these keywords in a spreadsheet so that you can keep adding to them on a regular basis.

But How Do I Find These Profitable Keywords ?

If you are selling or writing in a niche that you know about you will already have a good idea of some of the profitable keywords that people use. But if you are unsure of the keywords, go out and buy some magazines (Not Trade Magazines at the moment), study these magazines and start to write down words and phrases they use when they talk about the niche.

Watch TV programs about the niche, jot down again the phrases and keywords the presenters and people use.

Attend shows and fairs and talk and mix with people, listen to what they are talking about and how they are using the words.

If you follow the above you will have a good grasp of the profitable Keywords that will drive traffic and then buyers to your sites. The reason I asked you to stay away from Trade Magazines and Shows is quite often sellers will use different words than the buyers, and it is the buyers we need and want.

Yes this will take time, Yes you will make mistakes, but we all learn from mistakes…………………. But there is help at hand. Selling Books On eBay

At this time of year people are always looking for a quick and easy way to make some extra money for presents and all those other expenses that seem to crop up over the Christmas Holiday period. And one of the best ways I have found is by selling books on eBay. Alhough I say books, you can read into this other media such as DVD’s, Video, CD’s and Records. Most homes have bookshelves full of books and then you take a look in the attic and normally there are boxes full of them.

Now I am going to be honest here with you and say not every book you own will sell, and some that do sell will only sell for a small amount, but others will bring in some nice money for. It all depends on the topic of the book, if it is book club edition, and the age of the book. (This also goes for the other media types as well).

If you find you have lots of novels for example it might be better to put these into a bundle and sell them as a job lot. People will then either buy them to resell at a carboot type of event or to add to their own collection of books. Cookery books seem to sell very well on eBay again at times reaching high price points. Although selling books is fun and quick there is a lot to learn and one of the best books I have seen on the subject of selling books on eBay is a great book by Henry Nuff. This book goes into great detail on how to set up a business and make good money. Henry makes a living day in and day out by selling books on eBay so he writes from his vast expierience. Careful Who Mentors You

In this fast paced world we are all on the lookout for a quick fix. This is the same for our personal life as well as our business life. Now while at times a quick fix is need, it is the long term actions that will make a difference in both personal and business. And big problem in todays modern world with ebooks, magazines, webinars, podcasts and books is the facy that everyone tends to get in on the action. They know a little about the subject so they write a book or start a membership course. Again this can be good as we get to learn from different poeple with a different view point………………… But at times the stuff they teach about is not true, or is out of date. This is often no fault of the person writing but they do not know about the subject and are out of touch.

I guess many people have heard the saying “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear”. I for one can tell you that is true. All through my business and personal life, when I am ready for that next step or to have a push the right person always turns up. In my eBay and ecommerce business the same is very true. The right sites always turn up, a newsletter pops in my inbox or through the door.

Over the last few years a few “Teachers” have come into my life that have changed the way I think and look at my business and how I work my business. Today I want to tell you about one of these people. Her name is Janelle Elms.

Janelle is one of those people who can teach and really move you and your business to the next level, but also at the same time have loads of fun. Janelle can tell you off, and you never feel told off, you learn from the mistakes you make and in her own way Janelle shows you how and where you have gone wrong. Janelle Elms has toured with eBay University, appeared on many radio shows to talk about her passion of eBay and ecommerce.

Janelle’s latest project is OSI Rock Stars this is a membership site where people have a forum and they can ask questions and answer questions. This forum is broken down into different sections so it is easy to find and place questions and answers. The main other section is the education section. Here janelle and her team have well over 450 hours (yes 450 hours) of teachings that go from basic how to to complex teaching. But Janelle can make the most difficult subjects easy to understand.

One thing that makes OSI Rock Stars stand out is Janelle and her teach she uses to help her teach the subjects walk the talk. They are daily using the systems and sites they talk about, they are active in the business. This makes a massive difference and you can see and hear it when they teach.

The iphone Has Changed My Life.

For a long time I resisted buying an iphone, even when I had the chance last year when I was due to upgrade my phone. They looked good, did fun things, and to me they were just a very good gimmick, so I had a normal phone and my ipod. When my ipod died I bought an ipod touch, my life was about to change.  

The Ipod touch did cool things and so did the apps you could down load. Three weeks ago I treated myself to an iphone, my life has changed. I can check my emails on the go, check my calanders, do twitters and facebook, take pictures and video and loads more. But it is these Apps that have changed my life. I can now check my eBay accounts on the go, check PayPal on the go.

When I am product sourcing I can just scan a bar code and it brings back the pricing information so I can see if there is a profit to be made. WOW. I can say hand on heart that the IPhone has given me an extra 2 hours a week, yes honest 2 extra hours.
So if you are looking for a new phone and are in Internet marketing then the iphone is a real must for you and your business.

There is that saying “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear”. Now for many they think this just applies to school, college and university work. But I can tell you it applies to all areas of ones life and it applies to ones business life as well.

As your business grows you will often find that people and the right people will come into your life that have that knowledge that you to feed off to take your business to the next level.

eBay Marketing

You can have the best products online, You can write the best headlines, but if you have not got your eBay Marketing sorted out, your sales will not be as good as expected.

Over the years there have been many books, videos telling you how to market on eBay, now I am going to be honest some were good, some very good and other pretty bad. But most of them were Ok, but they came with a high price tag.

Also there was another big problem with………………………… they were written by people who knew Marketing, that is Ok, but a lot did not know eBay, and they just wrote about the marketing angle. That is Ok is you know eBay, but if you are a brand new person and you had to work out how to apply what you had just read to help your eBay Marketing you were stuck big time.

Well today is Thursday and my regular readers know Thursday is Product Review Day, and today I am going to review a cool Camera the Nikon CoolPix L20 10MP.

This Camera is a must have tool for any eBay seller or online seller.

This is a professional camera capable of crystal clear prints worthy of publication or gallery display, up to 16×20.

And it is incredibly inexpensive for a camera of such value.

Ok, so its 3.6 optical zoom won’t pick sand off an eagle’s beak at a thousand yards. Okay, so it won’t blow up to billboard size without loss of definition. In the real world however and everyday use this is a fine and professional level camera that will do a far better job than you expected. Better than a cell-phone.  And for any online seller it will do a great shop and your online shop pictures will stand out.

The camera has a generous three inch LCD screen which means you do not have to hold it to your face. There is no optical viewfinder in any case.
