Taking Your Business Mobile

A few short years ago the thought of taking your Amazon and eBay business mobile would Taking Your Business Mobilehave just been a dream or something you read in a sci-fi magazine. But today on 2015 having that opportunity is no longer a dream. It can happen. But hands in the air (or leave a comment below), how many of you are using the technology we have and truly taking your business mobile?

Or put it another way, when was the last time you listed something while you were outsourcing in a shop.  For me it was Saturday, I had bought a few items in a charity shop and while I was sitting on the bus on the journey home, I opened up the app on my phone. I used ScanPower this time. I scanned the item and then sent it to my list in the cloud. So by the time I got home, there was the list ready for me to print labels and send into Amazon right there on my desk top.

Also I use the eBay App and I have taken pictures with my iPad and there in the app I list the item. Yes the first few times it does take a bit of getting used to how the app works but once you have listed a half dozen items you will speed through the listings. Now I am going to be very honest here, although I like the iPad eBay App, I would not like to use it to do a major listing session as I find the process too slow, but to list a few items on the fly, no problem.

It seems each week that goes past we see new apps appearing for our smart phones and computers, some are just fun ones, while there are a few that if used in the correct fashion will make the life of the mobile reseller so much easier.  They do really give you that flexibility to work anywhere in the world, where you have a laptop (or tablet / smart phone) and access to the internet.

On a practical note I use the following :

  • Dropbox
  • Evernote
  • ScanPower
  • Amazon Sellers App
  • eBay App
  • Terapeak
  • Plus a few others

By storing the images in say Dropbox or Evernote and also your titles, descriptions for items you are listing, all you need do in a spare minutes just open up the laptop and start to list your items.

If you have a favourite App please share it below and help others brace the possibility of taking your business mobile.

How often Are You Listing Items?

Recently I have been hearing people say that their sales have not as been as How often Are You Listing Items?
good as they were a few months back. Well, this could just be down to the fact that it is summer and people are away on holiday, spending time with their children and just spending more time outside.

Yes, I know there are other reasons why sales can be down, such as more people are selling the same item, prices have dropped and maybe even the product is coming to the end of its sales life. In fact, it could be a whole host of issues, but it could also be down to something else, something so simple you will kick yourself when you find out. Any ideas?

It could just come down to the fact that you are not listing enough items on your selling platform – eBay, Amazon, Etsy. In fact it does not matter which of the platforms you list on, what matters is you list items on a regular basis.

In an ideal world if you can list items on a daily basis you would see your sales increase on a daily basis. Also, you need to keep adding new items to increase the total amount of items you have up for sale. It is a proven fact also the more items you have up for sale, the more items sell.

So what next?

List items on a regular basis – ideally daily but if that is not possible try and list a few times a week at least.

  • Increase your stock levels on a regular basis
  • Join the above two actions together and you will see increased sales and more money in your bank accounts.

Why You Need To Source On A Regular Basis

The other day I was asked the question “Do I really need to source items on a Toys.jpgregular basis to sell in my Amazon and eBay business?” Now you may think this was a question coming from a new person in the business, but in fact it was from a seller who has been selling online for many years. To start with I thought she was having a bit of a joke, but no she was being serious.

I then asked her how often she sourced for items for her online ventures, and she said just when she felt like it. Now I knew this girl only did this business part-time, as she had a job, and when I asked her was this due to the hours she worked she said no not at all. I was now puzzled so asked her when was the last time she sourced and she said before Christmas…………………………….

Then in the next breath she said and to be honest I am not motivated as my sales are so slow. I explained the sales were low, because she had not sourced or listed any items for almost six months so no wonder sales are almost zero.

I then explained that to make Amazon and eBay work and bring in a real income one needs to be out there sourcing products on a daily or weekly basis and then listing them on sites such as eBay and Amazon. And if you are doing Amazon send them into Amazon FBA.

It is a very simple process

  • Source
  • List
  • Sell
  • Rinse and Repeat

And if you can do the above on a weekly basis then you will start to see an increase in your sales, and these sales will then motivate you to go out more and list more. Also remember if you are out sourcing and not listing the inventory you have at home is just lying there and gathering dust and not making money. It needs to be listed on eBay and stored safe or if doing Amazon listed and sent into one of the Amazon warehouses.

A model I have been following for a long time and I know other people have been using in one form or another is…………………………………….

  • During the week if working source online and place your orders so they all arrive where possible by the weekend. And where you can pop into local shops.
  • Weekend visit local stores, Charity Shops, Car Boot sales, Fates etc
  • Sunday afternoon and evening list items on eBay
  • Sunday afternoon and evening list items onto Amazon and prepare the UPS pick up for Monday

The above is very powerful and once you have been using it for a few weeks it becomes part of your life. Of course you may need to tweak it to fit your lifestyle, but the important thing is you do it and take action.

So in closing the reason why you need to source on a regular basis is so that you always have new items to attract new buyers and keep your online stores looking alive and fresh. And because the more you list the more you sell.

Have You Joined The Source, List, Sell And Ship Club Yet?

Have you joined up to the source, list, sell and ship club yet?  If not why not? Source, List, Sell, Ship
As a reseller on Amazon and eBay you need to sign up to this club and be 100% committed to it.  Now of course such a club does not really exist, but in our minds and in our business journals we need to create our own club.

Our reseller business can really be broken down into Four main areas :

  • Source
  • List
  • Sell
  • Ship

Each one of the above is so important, on its own but when you add the four together you have a powerful business that will continue to grow and add money to your pocket and bank balance. For you see before you can ship and item you need to sell it, and before you can sell it you need to list it and before you list it you need to source it. Yes it is really that simple.

So if you have not done so yet, I want you to write in your business journal on a clean sheet of paper todays date, followed by this sentence “I have joined the source, list, sell and ship club, and I am 100% committed to it, to grow my business”

Then you need to commit to a set number of hours a day or week that you can source and list. And in the early days this is where you are going to spend most of the time. You need to build up a large list of items in Amazon and eBay – it is a proven fact that the more you list the more you sell.

Now of course this needs to be in proportion with each other. If you are sourcing for 10 hours a week, you need to look at setting aside 5 hours a week to list, and if you are buying joblots or wholesale lots you may need to put more time to listing as the joblots could have multiple items. Once you have been doing this for sometime you will get to know what your hours will be in this area.

The sell part of the business model does not take much time as most of this is done by eBay and if you are doing Amazon FBA there is nothing for you today at all.

Lastly the shipping part hours will grow as you grow your business. Again the Amazon FBA side does not need to be taken into account, but if you are doing merchant fulfilled or eBay orders you will need to allow more time on this as the orders grow.

So there you have it, a simple formula of Source, List, Sell and Ship, but if you do not spend time on each of these areas your business will suffer and sales will stop.

Hope this has helped you get motivated to grow your Amazon and eBay businesses and to take them to the next level. So get going and start to source, List, Sell and Ship.

Life As An eBay And Amazon Consultant – Part One

Life As An eBay And Amazon Consultant

If I look back on my life, and asked would I be doing the job I do now I guess the answer would be no. How To Drill Down In The Best Sellers On Amazon

Did you know that you can drill down in the bestsellers on Amazon to find some really cool products that you can take and run with to make some great money?

We are all so used to just seeing the top 100 products within the main category, but by clicking on some of the sub-categories and sub-sub-categories we can go deeper and deeper to see what people are buying right now on the Amazon platform.

As a tip remember that these top 100 lists are just a stamp shot in time of what is selling. Amazon refresh this every hour, of every day, of every week of every year. But here in the UK we can see how long a product has been there. Sometimes it is brand new other times it has been there for hundreds and even for thousands of days. The longer it has been there the greater the chance of the product being long term seller. Also you can see if it is on the way up or down. Green is good, red is keep an eye open.

Over the next few weeks we will be looking at how to source products in a lot more detail. Product Sourcing is one of these things that as online resellers you need to get a real understanding of for if you don’t you will not have products to sell.

Remember I am here to help you anyway I can to get a grasp on how to source, where to source products from, but there is a great course that has helped many people come to terms and understand it a lot better. The course is called Product Sourcing Master Class and if you click on the link you will be taken to further information.

In closing check out the video below and leave us comments and any questions and we will help you get started

Sourcing The Life Blood Of Your Amazon / eBay Business

As a Amazon / ebay consultant it has been worrying me recently when have beenSourcing The Life Blood Of Your Amazon / eBay Business talking with people and I hear they have been struggling with sourcing products to re-sell. Yes we can have a grasp of how the numbers all work, what sales rank is and how to buy within sales rank and make sure there are only a few FBA sellers, we can have top marks for that.

But if we cannot grasp hold of how to source and what sourcing is then our business will slowly die a death. Therefore I have decided to spend the next week or so, and look at what sourcing is, and how to do it in a way that is fun and enjoyable and at times can involve your family and friends.

We will look at many different ways of how to source, for example:

  • Retail Arbitrage
  • Online Arbitrage
  • Wholesale
  • Importing
  • Private Label
  • Craft
  • Trade Shows

As ecommerce sellers we need to learn not only just how to source but to make it a fun part of our business. If we do not enjoy getting out there and finding new products then our business will slowly die a death as there will be no products in our stores for people to buy. And if people keep coming back and find the same items time after time they soon get bored and will look elsewhere.

Over the course of this mini how to source course we will look at many different and creative ways to source products using a range of free and paid for tools. As I mentioned at the start it is good to know your numbers and it is a must, but numbers without products is no good, and products without knowing the numbers is no good either so we need both. And throughout this process you will see how we can do this.

If you have any questions please leave them in the comments section below or over on our Facebook Page and we will help you all we can. Lets make this interactive and above all lets have some fun.

Time To Get Back To Work

Life as an eBay Consultant has it’s ups and downs over the holiday periods. As well as offering Consultancy and Training on subjects as eBay, Amazon and Etsy I am still very active in sourcing products for not only myself but for clients as well. Yes it can get very busy when you have to balance your own business along side the “demands of clients” and it is all fun and yes means working into the wee small hours but I do not mind as I love what I do, and love helping my clients take their businesses to the next level.

But as I mentioned before the holidays are now gone, and it is time to get back to normal and rank up our selling and of course this means if we want to sell we need to source products and this is such a great time to find products as people are selling off presents they no longer need or want and also sell off their older items as they were given a newer one.

Also very soon people will be getting their credit card and store card bills, and will be looking to make some extra cash – so keep your eyes and ears open for people looking to unload some products. Also remember if you are a Trading Assistant get your name out and about as people will be looking to make that extra money.very soon,

And one of the harder areas an eBay Consultant has is when they need to sit down with a client either old or new and say to the client is it time for the product they are selling is put to bed and a new product needs to be found. Yes at times we all need to look at what we are selling and ask ourselves is the product still selling like it did a year ago. It can be hard and stressful for all concerned, but the end results can be outstanding as the old product was holding them back.

So let’s get back to work and start making that money and grow our businesses to new heights.
