Helping You Take Your Business To The Next Level

My regular readers will know that recently I joined up with Booksneeze to review new and up and coming books on a wide range of subjects. This time I chose J.R.R Tolkien by Mark Horne
Men, women, boys and girls all over the world will have read, heard or in recent years seen the movies of J.R.R.Tolkien in the form of the Lord Of The Rings and before that all ages will have read the pages of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. They were captured by Middle Earth and the world of fantasy that the readers were taken in to. But what of the man who wrote those wonderful stories that capture the readers interest and take them off in to another world.
When you read his books, you do not get to know the person behind the story, how he was able to write such power worlds and capture readers young and old alike. But through the Christian Encounter Series by Thomas Nelson Mark Horne takes you into the very personal world of the great man J.R.R. Tolkien. A life that had many hardships, but through his Christian Faith and strong friendships Tolkien became one of the worlds best writers.
Now before you panic this is no big and heavy look at the life of Tolkien in fact it is only 145 pages in total (And do not be put off by how short it is either). Mark Horne takes you into the life of Tolkien in a wonderful way and once you have finished reading the book, you will know the highs and lows, the pains and the sorrows that drove Tolkien to write such wonderful works.

The Final Summit book by Andy Andrews finally arrived and I opened the book, ready to be taken on a life changing journey. I knew from hearing Andy Andrews and reading his other books that I would come out the other side of the book a diiferent and changed person. No this is not some sales hype to get you to buy the book, it is my personal experience of having had Andy Andrews in my life.

Throughout the book we get to meet many characters for history, and the all meet up with David Ponder, who is the key charactor in the book. The other main character in the Angel Gabrial. Now before most of you switch off, at the mention of the Bible please do not do this, Andy Andrews uses him to tell part of the story.

The book starts off telling us who David Ponder and who some of the other people are who are in David Ponders life at the moment, and how they met him and how the stuck through thick and thin with him. And as we end one of the chapters two of his oldesy friends and work employees are talking how concerend they are as they have not seen or heard from him for four days, he has been in his office alone, but they have seen movement and internet activity from the security systems. As you start the next chapter you are thinking you will be going into a thriller or detective story. But no, we are about to start on a journey.

David Ponder is taken on a journey, where we do not know, but it could be heaven, here he meets up with all these great people from times gone by, and Gabriel gives them a task to complete and they only have five tries or until the hour glass runs out. I won’t say any more because it will spoil the book.

But please add this to your reading list this summer you will not be disapointed. Andy Andrews has delivered another wonderful story and you will come out a changed and better person.

Money Secrets Of The Amish by Lorilee Craker

From the moment you pick up the the book Money Secrets of the Amish by Lorilee Craker, the subtitle draws you into the book – Finding true abundance in Simplicity, sharing, and Saving. Could this really be true into today’s modern world? Well I was about to find out.

The book is well written and flows very easy. In the book she uses real life stories to illustrate that you can really find abundance by have a simple life style, sharing with people around you and also being able to save at the same time.
She also shows us how an Amish gentleman with 14 children and many grand-children was able to save over $400,000 yes very true, and th author says they never did without, but what amazed her was they were all happy and content.
The book is 217 pages long, but it is an easy read, and can be read in a few days, but it can be just more than a book and a story. If you take hold of the many nuggets and in fact at the end of some of the chapters there are To Do lists. And if you take action and do as these lists suggest will you start to see an improvement in your money and lifestyle.
The book teaches us to be sensible with our money, and often to asks the question “why are we buying this, and do we did this?” It also teaches us practicle ways of reducing our credit card debt and other areas of debt in life.
This is a must read book for anyone, from a single person to a family, it teaches us lessons that we often gloss over and then later on in life regret the money we have “wasted” and are in debt over our heads. But please if you get this book read it as a book, then re-read it and take notes, and then go and put into action what you have learnt.

Jolt! The Book That Can Change Your Life

When my review copy of  Jolt!

If you take hold of the principals set out in the book, and use the power of change in your personal and business life, you will never look at change in the same way. Most of us do not like change, but we live in a world that is changing every minute of everyday and if we do not embrace change we could miss out on many of the fantastic things that change can bring.
The book is broken down into five main headings and then each of these 5 headings has five chapters. So this gives you 25 “Jolts” or changes that you can apply to your lives or business today. And I think this is the key to any book like this. You need to read it and then put into action what you have just read and learnt.

The author of Jolt Phil Cooke knows this to be true, because after each of the main headings he lists a series of questions that we need to ask of ourselves, and then we need to take the answers and apply them to your lives.

Jolt!
