It May Not All Be Over

Over the last few days there have been rumours and the odd front page press story, telling us Royal Mail, could still be looking to take strike action on the run up to Christmas. Now because the CWU, did not cancel everything, the only need to give Royal Mail 7 days notice to carry out any strikes.

As we all know Christmas is the peak time for Royal Mail, and they know this, and to be honest can use this to their advantage, but will they. That is anyone guess. If they do strike people will lose total support for them as gifts and cars being sent will not be received, there will be thousands of sad children on Christmas day as presents are cards will not be there, all because Royal Mail let them down. And for some families the presents they ordered from Amazon and ,in good faith were let down by Royal Mail and sadly they cannot just go out and buy another present.

As for sellers a lot will ditch royal mail for other companies who will deliver on time, who offer real tracking of items, who care about the clients who send and receive. And just my thoughts ……………………. if Royal Mail do strike,and companies move elsewhere, those who strike will be without any job, for the Royal Mail as we know it will be gone.

Please Royal Mail do not strike, think ahead and look to a bright future and work with all sides and everyone will have a happy Christmas.

What is Success ? Well we all have have heard the saying “Success is a journey, not a destination” We all, each one of us have that success within our grasp. Success with our family, success with school work, success with that business venture, and the list goes on and on.

But sadly a lot of us never see that success, we never see that view from the top of the mountain. Why? Well we often give up, we tried it a few times and it did not work. We say oh yeah , we tried it five times already and look nothing, but just stop and think, what if the sixth time you tried it, it worked, your life could and would be very different.

As Winston Churchill said in that great speech “Never Give Up, Never Give Up, Never Give Up”…………………………….. Please who ever you are, old or youung never give up on that Dream or Goal, for one day, you will reach it. And the view from the top is awesome. But you know what, you will want to keep on going, to achieve bigger and greater things.

In this article you will find some nuggets that will help you brain storm product and product niche ideas to give you a start.

eBay and Amazon, is the best place to get a toe in the water to see if online selling is for you, and if running your own business is the thing for you. Once you have sold the items in your home, and for family and friends you will need in place a source of new products to sell, so to help you get started below are some ideas that sell day in and day out on these sites.

Now before we get into some hot niches it is important to think when you are sourcing do not pick very hot products that you will never be able to price match on, as sadly you will only lose money on. For instance the latest gadget maybe on everyones want list, but will the profit margins allow you to make a living, think and plan.


Baby Items Are Hot

Babies around the world are born every second and new parents and those who have a second or third child will always want new items or the latest item for their little one. But something else with baby items things like nappies are repeat items and parents by them on a weekly basis ib bulk for a few years at a time. If you can get a good supply and offer good customer service then you will have customers for a few years spending good money with you.

Non Branded Products

Everyone likes the latest item but often cost does not allow people to do this, but instead of think and looking for branded items, go out and look for non-branded items and very often you can find the same quality at a huge reduction and your customers will love you for this.

Niche Products From Around The World

Now if you have friends or contacts around the world or love to travel, then selling niche items that can only be found in some far flung country could be your key to a new business. Yes you need to think of customs etc, but do not let this stop you thinking out side of the box.

And when they start people are looking for new items to sell and sadly they will buy these scam wholesale lists that are for sale all over the internet.

Now not all these lists are scams are lot are very, very good and have great contact details, please just be careful and do not waste your hard earned money.

When the time comes and you want to buy new stock, try contacting the industry sites, these people will often pass on names and websites of their members. Look in yellow pages for wholesalers.

From time to time I list names, websites of wholesalers and product suppliers………………………….. Keep a look out.

Children and Cookery Books Make Money

How many people have a few books in their home and office, I guess if we are honest most will put our hands up, and I would think if there were children in the home then the number of books will go up. Now I am not talking about ebooks or books on the latest Kindle, no I am talking about real books, books you can touch and feel, take off a shelf and read. Books are every where and I again if I asked you what you did with your old books nost will say took them to the tip or a charity shop.

But here is a big shock did you know books are worth money and at times they are worth big money. Now I am not talking about novels and fiction here (although some of these books do make you money, No I am talking about non-fiction books, and children’s books.

Now there are some guidelines when buying these type of books to resell, be on the lookout for good quality, the spines still are not broken, no marks on the book, you know the score, what would you buy from a secondhand shop to read.

The same goes for cookery books look for ones in good condition , do not have marks on them, put the odd note in them can add to the value of the book. When looking to buy look for the named chefs (TV Chefs) and famous chefs, try and stay away from bookclub cookery books, unless they are old and no longer printed.

And when you are buying childrens books look out for the older books that tell those stories loved by children of all ages, but you no longer see in the shops.

Price wise when you are sourcing and you are buying blind try and go for books that are priced at under £2.00. Keep a lookout for 1st edition ones, but do not go mad on the price, if you buy at £2.00 or under you should make profits.

You can source books at car boot sales, Church and School sales, Library sales,yard sales, estate sales, charity shops and even bookshops and those sale bins at supermarkets all could hold little gems for you. Another area for you to source products is adverts in the local paper and community magazine, family, friends and neighbours, and auction sales.

As we approach the end of yet another year, one type of event that keeps hitting us in the face is Party Time. From now until the end of the year all we will see and hear about whereever we go or live is those twp words party time. Parties can be for all ages from children, through to teens, through to adults of all ages.

Parties can be fancy dress where you dress up in your favourite super-hero outfit, or doctors and nurses, and the list goes on and on. But as well as fancy dress parties you also have dinner parties, beach parties, 60′s parties where the room, mood and food are all aimed at that period, and the more effort that you put into that party the more fun people will have.

Then of course you have birthday parties, wedding parties, Christmas parties, halloween, thanksgiving, valentines day parties, and then there are school parties, school reunion parties, by now I would hope that you have the picture that parties are and can be a big money earner for eBay sellers and other online sellers. Ok so what can I sell. Well to start with you can sell the traditional fancy dress super-hero, doctors and nurses type fancy dress, but why stop there think outside the box a minute. Is there are market for fancy dress for the smaller figure or the larger figure, can you source this or even get items made. One thing a lot of people do not know about this industry is that a lot of these fancy dress outfits are one size, and unless you fall into this size you are either out of luck or try and fit into something that is too big or too small.
So fancy dress is one area.

Another area that you could think about is the area of party ware, Paper plates and napkins, paper cups, tablecloths, banners and ballons, again these items are easy to source, cheap to buy, very easy to post. Keep your eyes and ears open for the up and coming trends. Again think out of the box, if you know some one who makes these items design special items or other to custom make items for people to make their party a big success.

Lastly for this article you could produce a guide on how to run a successful party, in fact you could different guides and sell these on eBay. You could have guides for childrens parties, guides for teenagers parties and then guides for adults. In these guides you could show people how to get the invites out and get people to respond back to you, how to make themed food for the party, party games, and then the best going home goody bags and what to put in them. People will love these and will keep buying more from you, and of course in the guides there is nothing to stop you promoting your other items.
