7 Tips For The EBay Holiday Selling Season

As I write this we are well into the holiday season selling cycle, but it is never too late to start, well guess if you start on Christmas Day it is. But the things you put into place now, will set you up for the years to come.

Unlike most years people have already started buying online. Normally people wait until the friday after Thanksgiving to hit the shops and then the Monday to start buying online. But this year there have been figures like 40% of people have already started to buy gifts online.

There are a few tips that I have been following which have helped me stay focused and stay on track.

@ Make sure all your computer hardware and software is current and up to date. The last thing you need is something to fail in the busy selling period. A good tip to have is find out the opening hours of your local library and Internet Cafe just in case you do have computer failure. While I am on this subject invest in a Pay As You Go Internet . This will used if your main internet has trouble. By having this you will not be let down if you lose your internet connection.

@ Map out your sales and promotion plans. Start with Halloween, and then add Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Free Shipping days, also add other eBay special listing days in your calander and make the most of these when you list. And if there is a Free listing day on a night when you normally go out, you need to think what is more important.

@ If you are selling high end, or any item, is there a small free gift that you can include in the package. People love free gifts, and they will remember you and keep buying from you time after time.

@ Make sure you have all the different shipping materials you will need and over order than under.

@ Make sure you have all your stock in place, and have back up plans in case some suppliers let you down.

@ Like the free gift idea, just put a little thank you note in the package, people love being thanked.
