5 Ways To Increase Your eBay Sales

As someone who has been selling online for many years and enjoys helping other people get started in the world of ecommerce and selling on sites such as eBay one of the common questions is. “How can we increase our eBay sales“. Now while I wish I could wave a magic wand and everyones sales would increase, I am afraid I cannot. Yes I could sell you some ebook or course that costs you a lot. But most of these books do not give you the nuts and bolts on how to do it. I hope with this blog I can take you by the hand and show you that there are ways in which you can increase your chances of extra sales with any extra cost apart from the time it takes.

Before I give you my five tips, I would like to say, in this article I am not going to be talking about product sourcing, you can find out all about that and other subjects in other areas of the blog. So let us get started with 5 ways to increase your eBay sales.

1) Always treat your customers like you would like to be treated. Treat them with respect at all times, and if there is a problem treat them well. Always think when speaking to them or sending an email, how would I like to be treated in a shop or by a company when I have a problem with an item.

2) When you have sold an item to a customer always pack and post the item the same day (or as soon as they have paid). For instance if you have put two days handling time, do not wait till the end of the second day, send it out the same day. Package the item up in a nice box. Again think how you like to receive items in the post and send them out that way. This one task has the potential of increasing your eBay sales time after time as people can trust you.

3) Another simple tip that you can use to increase your eBay sales is to watch the times you end your items. People both new to eBay and those who have been selling online for many years often get this wrong. The time you list your item on the site is the time it will finish. For example is it is a 7 day auction and you list the item at 3pm on a Wednesday. then in 7 days time it will finish at 3pm. (This does not apply if you are selling by Buy It Now).
Not many people are on eBay at that time and your item could go for not much money. You need to do some basic research and find out the best times to list and finish your item. And yes some items do sell at that time, but quite often it is to businesses, and not home owners.

4) The 4th Tip on ways to increase your eBay sales is………………….. Always be honest. Yes be honest with your listings, if there is a chip, mark on the item tell the people. But it in the listing. But I can hear you say…………………. it is only a small scratch, you cannot see it really, and if I tell people I will have to reduce the amount. Sorry my answer is yes you might. But if you do not tell people, the buyer could leave you negative feedback and ask for a refund. Always be upfront and open when you do your listings, people will like that and you will have a happy buyer.

5) The last quick tip in this article is…………………………. Always take good pictures. And if there is a scratch or mark on the item and you have mentioned it in the discription take a picture of it and maybe draw an arroww on the picture so buyers can see it. Another idea if you have your own hosting is take as many pictures as you need to sell the item. By using your own hosting you do not have to pay the eBay fees for extra pictures. The more expensive the item the more pictures you need.
Never go over the top with the pictures, just use as many as you need to show the item.

I hope you have found these 5 ways to increase your eBay sales, useful, and like I said at the start they do not cost anything apart from some time. But the results will be worth it. Happy Selling
